P*Cola

So I figured that it was high time that I filled everyone in on what has been happening in my life since I have been MIA for, like, a month. Basically the summer ACE session ended and I spent two weeks at home in wonderful oblivion...not even kidding, I did absolutely NOTHING those two weeks, as I figured they would be the last two weeks of nothingness until Christmas. I was right. I moved down to P*Cola on Wednesday, August 5th--split the drive into a two day roundtrip with my mom, which was entertaining. Wednesday and Thursday were spent moving in and getting acclimated to the area...we ate at this Irish pub called McGuire's which has a Notre Dame room...it felt like I was back in SOuth Bend and made me kind of sad but whatever. They also have very entertaining bathrooms, but I will leave you all in suspense so that I do not ruin the surprise for when you visit me (which you all better!). Had a half day of in-service that Friday (boring), and spent the weekend with James in New Orleans which was a blast. I would like to confirm the naked chick story that he just posted...one of the most bizarre things of all time to be walking down a street and have this women naked except for underwear pouring paint onto herself...bizarre especially because it is considered art haha.  Went to my school the first time on Monday.  Won't bore you with all of the details but I'll just say that I had a shit ton of work to do in that classroom, all this paperwork, all of this technology stuff to learn (things sure have changed since I was a kid--yes I realize that makes me sound 80). Have about 80 students in middle school, and met a lot of their parents at the back to school night last night...overwhelming, but I didn't die so always encouraging. Classes start on Monday. I am starting to freak out. Funny moment of the day: We had a back to school mass today for all Catholic teachers in Pensacola. My principal, Sister Barbara, shows up late. At the luncheon afterwards, the superintendent calls her out on it. She says "My Jesus broke" and everyone stares at her and then laughs. Context: the crucifix that she wears around her neck broke apart into many pieces. (Her car broke down earlier that morning as well...not Sr. Barbara's day). MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!!
