Update

Hey all! So Tuesdays are my really, ridiculously long days here at ACE (get up to teach at 6 am, get back from class at 8:45 pm, with one break for lunch and one break for dinner...blah). And I come back all exhausted and grumpy and not wanting to do the mound of work that awaits me so I procrastinate and always read this blog...and it always makes my day way better! So thanks everyone lol.

ACE has pretty much been kicking my ass for the last month, which is why I have been slacking with my phone communication, so sorry about that everyone. I will try to be better, but make no promises. My days are essentially teaching, then being taught, then eating, doing homework, then sleeping, only to repeat the process the next day, and the next. I will not go into more detail then that, as I would probably bore you to death (or may have already haha). In all seriousness though, despite the fact that the days are long and kind of tedious, I am really getting excited to get down to Pensacola and actually start my teaching! Crazy, I know, but this time in a month I will be down there, woot woot.

I had a wonderful break over the 4th of July though, which was much needed lol. I flew out to Phoenix to see James and we drove up to the Grand Canyon for 1.5 days. We hiked a 6 mile roundtrip trail down the Canyon and got a view of the Colorado River, which was fantastic. The hike wasn't too terrible, as we started really early (dragged ourselves out of bed at 4:30 am lol) so were really only in the sun for the last 1.5 hours or so. The 3 mile hike back up the canyon was not exactly a joy ride, but we made it back up in one piece. It was really such a fun trip, and the canyon is gorgeous! It was a great time. We went back to Phoenix for the 4th, which was ridiculous. James and I ended up getting free tickets to the Tempe Town Lake Festival, where there was food, live music, and fireworks! We got the tickets through the hotel we were staying at, and they ended up being VIP tickets, so we got into this inner area with free food and, better yet, 6 FREE BEERS EACH. It was awesome. And the fireworks show was beyond amazing, over 45 minutes long with finale to "Proud to be an American" ... I love that song, so I was soooo happy! Lol. We enjoyed the live music afterwards as well. It was a great weekend, a wonderful break from all of the work. Check facebook if you want to see pictures.

That's all for now. I hope that everyone is doing well, and I miss you all!
